What End of Support for ECC Means for Your Contact Center
SAP’s Timeline for ECC
Important dates SAP has released regarding end of support for SAP ECC
- Mainstream support for SAP ECC 6.0 (Enhancement Packages 0-5) ended December 31, 2025.
- For Enhancement Packages 6-8, mainstream support ends December 31, 2027.
- After that, extended maintenance is available through 2030 — at a real cost premium, with reduced scope.
- After 2030, standard on-premises support ends completely, aside from a limited transition option SAP has opened for select customers through 2033.
Your S/4HANA migration touches more than your ERP
If your communication channels run through AMC DaVinci and SAP (via SAP Phone, classic Interaction Center, or the ICI web services framework) this transition introduces critical architectural changes.
Legacy desktop architectures and server-side telephony middleware — the kind classic SAP Phone integrations depend on — don’t automatically carry forward into S/4HANA. If your DaVinci integration connects your phones, chat, or SMS to your SAP environment today, your migration plan needs to account for how that connection evolves, not just how your ERP data moves.
Key Decisions for the Future of Your SAP Contact Center
Current Channel Footprint
Do you currently leverage SAP’s Integrated Communication Interface (ICI) for multi-channel routing (email/chat/SMS), or is our DaVinci integration strictly handling voice and telephony?
Agent User Interface Timeline
What is your target UI timeline for your agents? Will they remain on a “lift-and-shift” SAP GUI for HTML/Windows interface initially, or move directly to browser-based SAP Fiori or the S/4HANA Service WebClient UI?
Core Module Strategy
Are you planning to deploy the modern SAP S/4HANA Service module (which requires modern web services for CTI), or keeping telephony tied strictly to standard transactional screens like Sales & Distribution or Materials Management?
Broader CRM & Cloud Horizon
Are you assessing SAP Service Cloud v2 alongside your core migration, or do you have active plans to migrate your customer service platform to a non-SAP environment like Salesforce?
Why Align with AMC now?
This isn’t a migration you want to plan reactively.
We’ve spent years building the connective layer between SAP and modern contact center technology. We know how ICI, classic Interaction Center, and DaVinci fit together today, and how to carry that forward into Fiori, S/4HANA Service, SAP Cloud, or Salesforce, whichever direction you’re headed. Aligning early means your telephony tools embed cleanly into whatever workspace you land on, your custom logic survives the move, and your agents never notice the ground shifted underneath them.
